Mr. Kaffer was born in Belleville, Illinois, a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. He attended McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois, on a debate and academic scholarship, and was a nationally ranked competitive debater. Mr. Kaffer graduated from McKendree Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree, having triple-majored in Philosophy, Speech Communication, and Political science in just four years. He was honored upon his graduation as Illinois’ Speech and Theater Collegiate Student of the Year and presented with departmental honors in both Philosophy and Speech Communication.
Thereafter, Mr. Kaffer moved to St. Louis, Missouri to attend Washington University School of Law. While at Washington University, he participated in Moot Court and was awarded for Excellence in Oral Advocacy. He also attained training in alternative dispute resolution and mediation, an interest he first acquired while studying for his undergraduate major in Speech communication. Upon his graduation, he moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where he was admitted to the State Bar of Arizona in 2004. Mr. Kaffer’s eleven years of competitive public speaking and debate provided him with an expertise not often equalled in the legal community and which serves as a foundation for his effective advocacy for our clients. In addition, his specialized knowledge of mediation and communication skills attained in his undergraduate and graduate studies have made him a skilled negotiator.
Mr. Kaffer practices in the areas of real estate law, construction defect litigation, homeowners’ association law, commercial law, and equine law. He also engages in our transactional practice and serves as an associate mediator and arbitrator for USA Mediate, which provides mediation and arbitration services in Arizona, Colorado and Kentucky.
