Must an amendment to extend the expiration date of a real estate purchase option agreement be in writing, even if the contract does not include such a requirement? 

 

According to the Arizona Court of Appeals in the case of Best v. Edwards, decided on January 31st, the modification of a such a contract is a material modification that must be in writing.
